In this game inspired by Yves Tourigny’s eponymous card game, the supernatural is everywhere and madness is never far away. Investigate mysterious cases, choose your suspects carefully and advance the intrigues based on the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. Faced with disappearances, strange murders and suicides, you will have to unravel strange stories without sinking into madness yourself. Hurry up: time is against you.
The night of Walpurgis takes place, as every year, on April 30th. It’s the symbol of the end of winter. On this Sabbath night, a nightmare reigns over the city of Arkham. Every year, on May 1st, the police can only notice disappearances and other strange facts. The Arkham Police Department needs your expertise to track down the source of these demonic acts. Time is playing against you, because after the night of Walpurgis the tracks quickly become cold and the culprits will return to the shadows until the next Sabbath. In the shoes of private investigator Howard Lovecraft, you will examine events based on the story "The Dreams in the Witch House".
The game contains a series of cards representing ongoing criminal cases. For each victim, assemble the clue cards in order to reach the truth. The narrative is built gradually according to your choices, in a dynamic way.
The card game
Arkham Noir is first and foremost a solitaire card game by Yves Tourigny, published by Ludonova and accompanied by Forgenext. This game is available for sale and is inspired by the stories of H. P. Lovecraft and other authors, re-imagined as noir novels. Each investigation is independent. The game consists in drafting cards and adding them to ongoing investigations in order to solve them. The ultimate objective is to mark five "puzzle" clue cards in order to reconstruct the whole facts before running out of time… or going crazy. Each new game is the beginning of a unique challenge, with adjustable difficulty levels.
